Windows Software - Please Read This

PROMDRIVER is a 32 bit Windows Application. This provides all the advantages of the 32 bit Windows interface, including features such as long file names. It will run under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It is now a single application designed to control both System 2000 and Pin-Master 48

For your convenience the software also has the dual function of software update and demonstration version of the software.

The file which you download is a self-unpacking setup file. To install PROMDRIVER simply run the downloaded EXE file straight from your hard disk (by double clicking on the filename or icon), and follow the on screen instructions.

MSDOS Software - Please Read This

The DOS version of PROMDRIVER is no longer released as a matter of course. Versions are occasionally made available to customers to solve particular technical situations, but users should use the Windows version for the latest features and devices.

To generate your install floppy disk please follow the procedure described below . We strongly recommend that you first print this page for reference during installation.

The file downloaded is a self-unpacking zipped file containing all the files required on the 4 installation floppy disks.

Stage 1

  • Create a new directory (folder) and download the file into this (otherwise empty) directory.

Stage 2

  • This stage will unpack the disks into subdirectories DISK1, DISK2, DISK3 and DISK4. At the MSDOS prompt log onto the directory containing the downloaded file.
  • Type the following at the prompt:

PM48 -d

(For the German language version replace PM48 with PM48D)

Stage 3

  • Copy the files from the new sub-directory DISK1 onto a suitable floppy disk (HD will be required). Label this disk with the name and version of the program, and 'Disk 1'
  • Copy the files from the new sub-directory DISK2 onto another floppy disk. Label this disk with the name and version of the program, and 'Disk 2'
  • Copy the files from the new sub-directory DISK3 onto another floppy disk. Label this disk with the name and version of the program, and 'Disk 3'
  • Copy the files from the new sub-directory DISK4 onto another floppy disk. Label this disk with the name and version of the program, and 'Disk 4'
  • The 4 disks you now have are copies of the distribution disks we send out with programmers.

INSTALLATION

Place the floppy marked 'Disk 1' in the floppy drive, log onto that drive and type:
INSTALL
at the MSDOS prompt. Then simply follow the on screen instructions. You will be prompted when to insert Disk 2, 3 and 4.
 
REGISTRATION

Pin-Master 48 software is immediately useable but for complete device support your programmer must be registered. (You only need a new registration if you have had your programmer more than a year, or if the last registration was more than a year ago.)

Registration is free if you use email, but you need to obtain a registration code from us. Email your name, company name and address, and programmer serial number and we will email you a code allowing a year's support.

Failing to register your programmer won't ever affect capabilities your Pin-Master already has. It just prevents your taking advantage of recently addded parts.
