Windows Software - Please Read This

PROMDRIVER is a 32 bit Windows Application. This provides all the advantages of the 32 bit Windows interface, including features such as long file names. It will run under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It is now a single application designed to control both System 2000 and Pin-Master 48

For your convenience the software also has the dual function of software update and demonstration version of the software.

The file which you download is a self-unpacking setup file. To install PROMDRIVER simply run the downloaded EXE file straight from your hard disk (by double clicking on the filename or icon), and follow the on screen instructions.

System 2000

Please note that for System 2000 you need to install the latest firmware in order to access the latest features and device support. This is now included with the Windows software installation download. If you accept the suggested directories during installation you will find the firmware in the file:

C:\Program Files\MQP Electronics\PROMDRIVER\Firmware\fw2000.bin

You need to program this firmware file into an 8-bit 8Mbit EPROM (e.g. M27C801).

MSDOS Software - Please Read This

The DOS version of PROMDRIVER is no longer released as a matter of course. Versions are occasionally made available to customers to solve particular technical situations, but users should use the Windows version for the latest features and devices.

To generate your install floppy disk please follow the procedure described below . We strongly recommend that you first print this page for reference during installation.

System 2000

PROMDRIVER (PD2) Version V10.65 (25 Nov 2003) Firmware Version 4.38 (25 Nov 2003 - checksum E4A6)

The latest software and firmware version is available for your use. The Firmware can be found on the installation floppy, created below, as a binary file called FW2000.vvv, where vvv is version number. You need to program this firmware file into an 8-bit 4Mbit EPROM (e.g. 27C040).

The file you download from this page is a self-unpacking zipped file containing all the files required on the installation floppy. To produce the floppy you should run the downloaded .EXE file by typing its name at the MSDOS prompt followed by the parameter for the floppy disk drive. For example if you have downloaded S2000.EXE (the English language software driver for system 2000) you should log onto the directory you downloaded the file into, place a suitable floppy (preferably HD) into drive A: (or whatever) and type

The necessary files will be unpacked into the floppy. Label this installation disk with the program name and version number.

INSTALLATION

Place the floppy in the floppy drive, log onto that drive and type:
INSTALL
at the MSDOS prompt. Then simply follow the on screen instructions.
 
REGISTRATION
To access the devices added since the date your programmer is supported until, you need to obtain a registration code from your distributor. A charge will be made for this.
