Description

Certain EEPROM devices available in both 8 pin DIL packages and also in 14 pin SOP / SOIC packages. These adapters allow a programmer designed for the 8 pin DIL device, to program the SOP / SOIC device. Two adapter variants are available: AD601 will fit into a ZIF socket with only 8 pins, spaced 0.3" apart; whereas AD599 has 8 extra (unused) pins, and its pins are spaced 0.6" apart. We recommend, and normally stock AD599 as this can be used in any of our programmers (having the industry standard universal ZIF socket), and sits more stably in the socket.

Parts from the 25640 family require a different adapter.

Programmer socket:

AD599: 8 (+8) pin DIL (.6" pitch)

AD601: 8 pin DIL (.3" pitch)

Note: Adapter AD599 will do the job of either, provided the programmer socket will take a 16 pin 0.6" spaced adapter. AD601 is available for those situations where this is not the case. Most programmers have universal DIL sockets which will accept from 0.3" to 0.6" pitch sockets.

Notes:

As this is a general purpose adapter, no capacitors are fitted. However track runs are extremely short.
