Description

Certain EEPROM devices available in both 8 pin DIL packages and also in 8 pin SOP / SOIC packages with the connections rotated 2 pins anti-clockwise. These adapters allow a programmer designed for the 8 pin DIL device, to program the SOP / SOIC device. Two adapter variants are available: AD600 will fit into a ZIF socket with only 8 pins, spaced 0.3" apart; whereas AD598 has 8 extra (unused) pins, and its pins are spaced 0.6" apart. We recommend, and normally stock AD598 as this can be used in any of our programmers (having the industry standard universal ZIF socket), and is more stable in the socket.

Note: Adapter AD598 will do the job of both, provided the programmer socket will take a 16 pin 0.6" spaced adapter. The other adapters are available for those situations where this is not the case. Most programmers have universal DIL sockets which will accept from 0.3" to 0.6" pitch sockets.
