Device types
- Motorola
- MC68HC05B6 (EEPROM only)
- MC68HC705B16
Device package: 56 pin SDIP
Programmer socket: 48 pin DIL
Socket Specification:
Insertions:
Replaceable: Yes
MC68HC705B16 (using Pin-Master 48)
- This microprocessor has EPROM
and EEPROM, which need to be programmed. The data required to be programmed
should be contained in the data file at the following locations
- EPROM: 0020h-004Fh, 0300h-3DFEh,
3FF2h-3FFFh
- EEPROM: 0100h-01FFh
All checksums shown include just
the locations specified above.
- The device can be locked by programming
bit 0 of EEPROM address 100h to a 0. In the Pin-Master 48 this is a separate
'Special' function called 'Lock'. This allows the programmer to perform full
verification after programming, and before locking. Setting this bit to 0
in the data file will NOT program the SEC bit, and will result in a verification
error.
- If the device is locked, it cannot
be read, or programmed in any way.
- The blank value for EPROM is 00h
and for EEPROM is 0FFh.
- As the blank value is assumed,
by the Pin-Master 48, to be 00h for this device, the data file must contain
an 0FFh byte for every EEPROM byte which you do not wish to program. Every
address not defined as EPROM or EEPROM, must be given the value of 00h if
it is defined. The SEC bit must be defined as high.
- The blank check function only
checks the EPROM, as the EEPROM may be programmed whatever they contain before
programming. This means, of course, that the checksum of a 'blank' device
may vary.
- Manual or Append Programming are
available to make adjustments to EEPROM locations independently of programming
EPROM.
MC68HC05B6 (using Pin-Master 48)
- This microprocessor has mask ROM
(which is pre-programmed in the factory) and EEPROM, which can be programmed.
The data required to be programmed should be contained in the data file at
the following locations
- The device can be locked by programming
bit 0 of EEPROM address 100h to a 0. If the device is locked, it cannot be
read, or programmed in any way.
- Manual or Append Programming functions
are available to make adjustments to EEPROM locations.

In-circuit programming (MC68HC05B6
only)
The device may be programmed in circuit
provided the proper conditions exist. For more information see the device data
sheet. The following connections on the Pin-Master 48 JTAG socket may be used,
in place of AD509 . In-circuit programming requires a good understanding of
the device in question, and of the circuit containing the device.
