Programming Notes

System 2000

• This microprocessor has EPROM, EEPROM, and a CONFIG byte which need to be programmed. The data required to be programmed should be loaded into the buffer at the following locations
  • EPROM: D000h-FFFFh (and 9000h-AFFFh for 'E20)
  • EEPROM: B600h-B7FFh
  • CONFIG: 103Fh
  The values at other locations is ignored. All checksums shown include just the locations specified above.
• Overall programming time has been optimised by performing the two verification passes using a checksumming algorithm. This has the effect of reducing programming time by some 45 seconds. However if an error is found the failure address will be reported as 000000. If it is essential to location the error, read the device into a binary file and compare this file with a correct file in the same format.
• The blank check function only checks the EPROM, as the EEPROM and CONFIG may be programmed whatever they contain before programming. This means, of course, that the checksum of a 'blank' device may vary.
• Any values may be programmed into the EPROM and EEPROM. To avoid verification errors, the CONFIG byte data must have bits 4 to 7 set to 0, and bit 3 set to 1, as these bits cannot be programmed.
• The programmer RAM buffer may be loaded from a file, or by reading a master device. Please note that no progress bar information is given during the reading function.
